The ABS technology utilized by the 2007 Eclipse Spyder helps to eliminate wheel lock-up during panic or emergency braking. Wheel speed is monitored and braking pressure is optimized when impending wheel lock-up is sensed. By "pulsing" the brakes up to 10 times per second, wheel rotation is modulated in order to help eliminate lock-up and maximize driver control.

One of the greatest contributions to occupant safety in a collision is the ability of the platform to dissipate impact energy. The 2007 Eclipse Spyder platform is reinforced in key locations using high-strength steel. Then additional cross members in the dash area and cabin floor help maintain cabin rigidity in the event of a side collision.
